Flipkart Big Billion Days sale records 666 million visits, 110 orders placements per second

NEW DELHI: Flipkart, India’s domestic e-commerce marketplace, has recorded 666 million visitors annually, the Big Billion Days – with more than 52 per cent of these visits being recorded from tier III cities and beyond. The platform received 110 order seats per second.

The 6-day event, which runs from October 16 to October 21, will feature offers on mobile, TV and accessories, electronics and accessories, fashion, beauty, food, toys, baby care, home and kitchen, furniture, groceries and more.

In the first 5 days, Flipkart delivered 10 million shipments and more than 3.5 million ships delivered by Grana Partners. About 60 percent of vendors are from Tier II and Tier III cities.

Flipkart saw 1.5x transaction vendors compared to last year, the number of crore sellers rose to 1.5x, and the number of lakh sellers increased by 1.7x.

Tier III customers accounted for almost 50 percent of the sales of large equipment from these areas. The premium segment of smartphones saw 3.2x growth. 1 TV sold every 2 seconds, 1 microwave sold every 14 seconds.

Laptops, desktop, audio, IoT, camera and tablet saw 2x YOY growth in the electronics segment. Nearly 3.5 million audio devices and accessories sold 1M headphones by the end of the day. 11 headphones were sold every second until day 1, Apple Airports sold 1 every 4 seconds; 1 Home Theater / Soundbar sells every 2 seconds; 1.5 orders per second were placed for furniture; And beauty, public business and home saw 100% growth.

The WFH furniture division saw the highest growth in the furniture division. Flipkart set up nearly 50000 WFH desks across India and delivered 1 Indian house every 3 seconds
