Get well soon Baji: Cricket fraternity Kapil Dev wants to get well soon

The cricket fraternity took to social media on Friday to wish Indian captain Kapil Dev, who won the 1983 World Cup for angioplasty, a speedy recovery.

“Please join me in sending prayers, strength and congratulations to Kapil and Romy Dev for their speedy recovery. Kapil was rushed to the hospital on time due to a complaint that he was unwell. According to doctors, the procedure is successful and he will be home soon,” said Kapil’s former India player Madan Lal. Tweeted.

Sachin Tendulkar said: “Take care Kapil Dev! Pray for your speedy recovery. Get well soon Baji.”

“I pray for your speedy recovery. Get well soon Baji” said Virat Kohli.

“The best Kapil Dev wants to recover quickly for his angioplasty. You have always been a fighter in the BJP and you will come out of this fight fit,” said Mohammad Kaif.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the greatest champion cricketer of our time … Guru MEHR Kareka ..! Love is always Kapil …!” Bishan Singh Bedi tweeted.

“Get well soon Kapil Baji. I want to recover quickly,” VVS Laxman said.

Harbhajan Singh tweeted, “Get well soon Baaji.”

“Dear Baji! I pray for your speedy recovery! Get well soon Please I need some more golf lessons after cricket,” Yuvraj Singh said on the micro-blogging website.

“The big-hearted, mighty Kapil Dev wants to recover quickly. There is much more to be done,” said Harsha Bhogle.

Kapil, 61, underwent surgery on Friday morning at Fortis-Escorts Hospital in south Delhi.

“He came to the hospital last night (Thursday) with a serious problem. His angioplasty has been done and now he is stable. Angioplasty was done under local anesthesia. Normal patients are kept in hospitals for 48 to 72 hours before being discharged,” said a senior doctor, who did not want to be identified. A.N.S.

The doctor also said that the famous cricketer has a long history of diabetes. “In diabetics, there are more calcium deposits in the blood vessels. Therefore, it is a problem that can occur in patients undergoing angioplasty. But he is stable,” he said.
