IPL 2020, RR vs SRH: Warner-led ‘Orange Army’ seek desperate victory over Royals to stay afloat

The RR vs SRH game in IPL 2020 is scheduled to start at 3:30 pm (IST) and the toss will take place at 3:00 pm (IST).

While the Steve Smith-led Royals still have a slightly better chance of including SRH in the knockouts, this is nothing short of a two- or tie affair as Warner-led Sunrisers beat Hyderabad by six points at seventh. Games.

RR is at odds with their attempts to pull off a joint performance with the bat or ball. The brilliance of Steve Smith, Sanju Samson and all-rounder Ben Stokes and Jose Butler in the early stages has made headlines in recent matches and top and bottom batting performance.

Young Ryan Barak and Rahul Devadia have delivered the finals in a couple of games, but need to be more consistent to support a better line-up that could fall.

Joffre Archer is in red hot wicket-taking form but the team will need the support of the likes of Ankit Rajput and Karthik Tiyagi for an increase and a folding unit. Meanwhile, the spin duo of Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Divadia have done well with some economic mantras.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are behind the wall and they will face elimination if they lose to Rajasthan Royals (RR) later in the evening. The injury to their leading batsman Kane Williamson has made things even more difficult for the Warner-led side.

SRH, Johnny Burstow, David Warner and Manish Pandey will have to find a way to reduce their reliance on the most reliable top line.

If Williamson did not cut the playing XI, S.R.H. Jason Holder or Mohammed Nabi will be outplayed.

Warner hopes that one of Abdul Samad or Vijay Shankar’s trusted youngsters will deliver by bat if the top order fails.

SRH’s seam bowling attack tried to make up for the loss of their fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but is being established at crucial stages. Sandeep Sharma and D Natarajan should be against the ‘Royals’ team with some dangerous power hitters.
