New Delhi: Former India opener Virender Sehwag has expressed his views on sports and cricketers in his trademark comedy. The former cricketer, who currently hosts his daily social media show Viru Ki Baitak, recently answered questions from his fans where he talked about former West Indies batsman Brian Lara.
Speaking about Laura’s unbeaten four centuries against England in St. John’s, Antigua in April 2004, Sehwag named two contemporary batsmen who he believes can break this record. Sehwag chose Indian and Australian openers Rohit Sharma and David Warner as his favorites. “If anyone can break this record of Laura, it is David Warner and Rohit Sharma. If Rohit Sharma has a day and a half left they can break these records if they happen,” he said.
Surprisingly, India captain Virat Kohli was not included in the ‘Nawab of Nazareth’ list.
To date, the Laura 400 is the highest individual score in knockout Test cricket.
Sehwag, the only Indian to score three centuries (300 or more), scored $ 309 against Pakistan in Multan in 2004 and 319 against South Africa in 2008, then the fastest three-hundred in Test cricket with 300 off just 278 balls.
He was widely soaked to break the record during the days he played. Speaking about this, he said that he is always living in a hurry and therefore can never break the record. He said it was his destiny not to break Laura’s record because he lived in a hurry.
