IPL 2020: All-round Chennai Super Kings Royal Challengers beat Bangalore by 8 wickets

Dubai: After three consecutive defeats, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 8 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (October 25, 2020).

CSK showed an all-round performance in the first match of the Super Sunday dual title in match number 44 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and won the fourth match of the season.

RCP captain Virat Kohli, who wanted to bat first, had a chance to top the points table, but his team was restricted to 145-6 by CSK bowlers. Opening batsmen Aaron Pinch (15 for 11) and Devthu Patikkal (22 for 21) failed to give RCB the required start and were sent back to the pavilion in the seventh over. Following their wickets, Kohli (50 off 43) and AB de Villiers (39 off 36) amassed an 82-run partnership towards a big total, but were quickly bowled out in succession.

Then RCB lost 4 wickets in the last three overs and managed only 145-6 in 20 overs.

According to CSKA, 22-year-old Sam Curran took three wickets and Deepak Sahar two.

In reply, Chennai openers Faf du Plessis and Man of the Match Rudraj Kejriwal gave CSK a flying start before dismissing South Africa in the sixth over. Faff hit 25 off 13 balls, including two fours and two sixes.

Kejriwal (65 * off 51) then scored 50 with Ambati Rayudu (39 off 27) to ensure his team kept the playoff hopes alive.

This season R.C.P. And this is the second time CSK have met Bangalore in their last match as Chennai were unbeaten on 90 off 52 balls, beating Chennai by 37 runs.

While RCB is in third place, CSK has moved up to seventh.
