New Delhi: If you are getting your liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder home, you should be aware of the new rules starting from November 1st. According to reports, oil companies are developing a new way to prevent theft and identify the right customer.
It is in this context that oil companies will implement the Delivery Authorization Code (DAC) for customers who choose the home delivery of LPG cylinders. From November 1, customers will be required to provide a one-time password (OTP) to deliver their LPG cylinders home.
Delivery Authorization Code (DAC), a pilot project is already underway in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It will initially be implemented in 100 smart cities.
Customers who wish to deliver LPG cylinders at home will receive a code on their registered mobile number. Successful delivery of LPG cylinders can only take place when customers provide the OTP code to the delivery person.
For those who do not have a registered mobile number, it can be done by the person delivering it in real time through an application so that customers can generate the code.
It is a good idea to update customer details such as name, address and mobile number. Lack of these details or incorrect details may cause difficulties in obtaining the gas cylinder.
However, this system is not suitable for commercial LPG cylinders.
