Veteran cricketer Kapil Dev discharged from hospital after undergoing angioplasty, Chetan Sharma confirmed

Veteran cricketer and former India captain Kapil Dev is now fine and was recently discharged from hospital following a successful angioplasty following a heart attack.

Former cricketer and former Devin team player Chetan Sharma has taken to his official Twitter handle and confirmed the good news that the World Cup-winning captain has been discharged from hospital.

“Good news Kapil Baji is completely fine & discharged from hospital. Jai Mata D” Sharma tweeted.

Sharma also shared a picture of Dev with Dr Atul Mathur, a 61-year-old angioplasty specialist.

“Dr. Atul Mathur Kapil Baji did angioplasty, he is fine and discharged. Picture of heretherealkapildev at the time of discharge from the hospital,” he wrote.

On Friday morning, Dev suffered a major heart attack and was immediately rushed to Fortis Escort Hospital in Delhi. The legendary cricketer underwent angioplasty and is said to be in a stable condition.

The hospital said in a statement, “Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, 62, came to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okla Road) emergency department on October 23 at 1:00 am with a complaint of chest pain. Made by Dr. Atul Mathur, Director of the Department. ”

Known for his copy book bowling activity, Dev made his international debut in 1978 during the one-day international (ODI) against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Ayub National Stadium. The Test debut of the former India captain came in the same month against similar opposition at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Dev, who took 5,248 runs and took 434 wickets in 131 matches played in the longest format of the game for India, meanwhile scored 3,783 runs and took 253 wickets in 225 ODIs.

‘Haryana hurricane’ hit eight centuries and 27 fifties in Test cricket, taking 400 wickets. He also broke Richard Hadley’s Test record of 431 wickets.

In 1983, Dev led India to lead his national team to the first International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup by 43 runs against the West Indies at Lord’s. During the final clash, Devan knocked off a dangerous Vivian Richards off Madan Lal’s delivery, which changed the situation of the match.
