New Delhi: India limited-overs captain and senior opener Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the three-man squad for the tour of Australia on Monday due to a persistent hamstring injury, but he has a slim chance of playing for the Mumbai Indians for a week.
In the absence of Rohit, KL Rahul will be Virat Kohli’s assistant in the white ball squad and will return to the Test squad after a considerable period. Wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Bandh retained his place in the Test team but failed to make cuts for limited overs.
Rahul T20 and two of the ODI teams, Rajasthan Royals (326 runs in 12 matches) are the best in the IPL. Sanju Samson, who has, is the wicket-keeper in the T20 squad.
