Sahil’s respect for Dhoni was well known and on many occasions he became famous for his experienced Dhoni. Sahal made his international debut in June 2016 under Dhoni’s captaincy. The 39-year-old Dhoni is well known for guiding spin bowlers from behind the stumps.
Toss winner Virat Kohli wanted to bat first against Dhoni-led CSKA in Dubai. On a difficult track, Kohli managed to put only 145/6 in the group by scoring a fifty (50 off 43 balls). Sam Curran picked up CSK’s bowlers and returned with a score of 3-19.
CSK chased down the total by 8 wickets with opener Rudraj Kejriwal capturing his bat with 65 runs (51 balls; 4×4, 6×3) to win a match. Dhoni gave him good company and was 19 years unbeaten. Sahal Ambati took Rayudu’s crucial wicket, but Kejriwal had other ideas that day.
Despite winning the tournament, CSK failed to qualify for the IPL 2020 playoffs – much to the amazement of their countless fans. For the first time in CSK’s history, they failed to qualify for the playoffs. In the second match on Sunday (October 25), the three-time champions clashed when top-seeded Rajasthan Royals thrashed Mumbai Indians.
