IPL 2020: Third place DC to hijack already qualified MI with scenes in Playoff

Third-placed Delhi Capitals (DC) topped the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) with Mumbai Indians (MI). It is scheduled to play on Saturday afternoon at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.The first event of the weekend doubles event, the MI vs DC Encounter, is set to begin at 3:30 pm (IST), and the toss is set to take place at 3:00 pm (IST).

While the four-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have already qualified for the play-offs, Delhi Capitals (DC) will be tabled to upset the table-headed Mumbai Indians (MI) and be knocked out.

The Delhi capitals need to keep their play-off hopes alive by beating the Mumbai Indians, and KXIP, KKR and SRH are more in contention for a place in the knockouts. One of the slip-ups, KKR, RR and KXIP can be seen jumping to a spot in the knockouts.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians are in contention after losing to Rajasthan Royals. Similarly, Delhi lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last match.

The Mumbai Indians’ best run in the tournament came from the back of their batsmen, with their leading batsmen Quinton de Kok, Ishan Kishan and Surya kumar Yadav scoring consecutive runs.

The MI bowling department has praised the batting department for its efforts to chip in wickets and suffocate opponents by bowling well on important occasions.

The MI trio of Jaspreet Bumrah and Trent Bolt are in the form of rich wicket-takers, and the supporting cast of James Pattinson and Kieron Pollard have been very supportive of the new bowlers.

MI spinners Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya have taken important wickets in the middle overs. While the fitness of MI captain Rohit Sharma is a major concern, Kieron Pollard is leading the side well in the absence of their experienced captain.

The Delhi capitals were one of the most determined teams in the competition with MI and RCB in the first half of the tournament.

However, the Delhi Capitals batting stumbled several times during their recent matches, with only Shikhar Dhawan scoring well. The inconsistent form of Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, Ajinkya Rahane and Hetmor is a major cause for concern.

With the exception of the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Delhi Capitals bowled normally in all cylinders with South African seam duo.

The DC spin duo of Ravichandran Aswin and Akshar Patel bowled well.
