Vegetable prices are not coming down due to rain. Except for potatoes and onions, the prices of other vegetables have gone up once again. There is no vegetable below Rs 36 a kg.

 

On the other hand, vendors carrying vegetable carts in the streets are charging double the price from the people. In the past, the prices of vegetables had come down due to abundant arrivals in Mahewa Mandi. According to the wholesalers, by the middle of October, the price of vegetables except Parwal-Bhindi will come down by 50 percent. Because in this season the production of vegetables is high.

Vegetable shops have also reduced in most of the retail markets of the city including Bichiya, Surajkund, Beniganj, Gorakhnath, Kudaghat, Sahabganj, Dharamshala Bazar, Bardgawan, Rajendranagar, Jafra Bazar, Basharatpur, Krishnanagar due to the cost of vegetables. Vegetable carts are rarely seen in the streets too.
